The Atlantic law has made accommodation for specific laws which relate to jewelery and related business. Due to the lead content in jewelery proving to be dangerous, the Atlantic law asks manufacturers to use the least possible content of lead in jewelery.

Apart from this, the Atlantic law has made it mandatory for manufacturers to have almost negligible lead content in jewelery designed for children and body art. This is because the close proximity of lead with the body in case of body art and the high chance of consuming the jewelry by children can be very damaging if lead content is high. Increasing awareness amongst people about the devastating effects of lead, which includes behavioral problems , learning disabilities in children to organ failure and even death in the case of adults, has made them skeptical about buying jewelery with lead.
